CHIPS Compound Breakthrough for Takla Atiyinu Community

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ho Central Constituency, Stephen Adom, has inspected the ongoing construction of a CHIPS Compound at Takla Atiyinu. The facility, which is nearing completion, is expected to provide basic healthcare services to the community.

According to the MCE, the CHIPS Compound is designed to serve a smaller capacity and will not admit patients. Severe cases will be referred to bigger facilities, he assured the populace. The MCE’s comments came in response to questions about the size and capacity of the facility.

A resident of the area, Gift Atsri, had raised concerns about the waterlogged location of the facility, questioning its accessibility. However, the MCE assured that the assembly would make provision for gutters to ensure the facility is motorable.

The headmistress of the nearby Ho Airfield M/A Basic School, Benedicta Seyram Adzroey, welcomed the development, saying, “We’re grateful for the gesture since the facility will soon serve the pupils of the school.” She added that accommodation for nurses who will serve in the CHIPS Compound was a pressing need.

The MCE’s inspection tour also took him to Kpenoe, where a 6-unit classroom block is under construction. The one-storey building is 20% complete, and the MCE urged the contractor to expedite work on the project. His tour ended at Nyiveh, where another 6-unit classroom block is underway, currently at footing level.

The MCE’s visit underscores the assembly’s commitment to improving infrastructure in the constituency. The community is eagerly awaiting the completion of these projects, which are expected to improve education and healthcare services.
