Ghana-Africa Development Bank Ties Strengthened

 

 

Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has received the Letters of Credence of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Country Manager, Ms. Halima Yussuf Hashi, in a ceremony aimed at bolstering the country’s development partnership. According to #GhanaNews, the meeting underscored Ghana’s commitment to strengthening its collaboration with the AfDB.

 

Honourable Ablakwa welcomed Ms. Hashi and congratulated her on her appointment, reaffirming Ghana’s dedication to the partnership. The Minister noted that Ghana continues to champion African-led reforms, particularly in areas relating to debt settlement and restructuring, financial independence, and broader reforms within global financial institutions.

 

Ms. Hashi expressed gratitude for the warm reception and assured the Minister of the AfDB’s readiness to further strengthen cooperation with Ghana. She highlighted the Bank’s commitment to supporting priority areas such as the Big Push and key infrastructure development to promote sustainable economic growth.

 

The meeting reflects the longstanding partnership between Ghana and the AfDB, with both sides expressing optimism about the tangible benefits an enhanced partnership would yield. The AfDB has been a key player in Ghana’s development agenda, supporting various projects aimed at promoting economic growth and reducing poverty.
