Kpotosu Cuts Sod For Girls School Block

Ho Central Constituency has taken a decisive step toward expanding access to secondary education with the sod-cutting for a modern three-storey classroom complex at E.P. Church Mawuko Girls’ Senior High School. According to Richmond Edem Kofi Kpotosu, Member of Parliament for Ho Central, the ceremony marks a significant milestone in the constituency’s educational advancement.
The event was held at the school’s new site in Hosita and brought together key stakeholders including the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Rt. Rev. Dr. Lt. Col. Bliss Divine Kofi Agbeko, Ho Municipal Chief Executive Steven Adom, and Headmistress Rose Cynthia Nyawuto. Kpotosu noted that the project was facilitated through the intervention of NDC Volta Regional Chairman Mawutor Agbavitor, underscoring collaborative efforts to strengthen infrastructure for girls’ education.
The proposed facility will comprise eighteen units designed to accommodate the increasing number of students seeking admission annually. Beyond expanding capacity, the structure is intended to secure the land against encroachment and formally bring the new site into active use, laying groundwork for further institutional growth.
Addressing attendees, Kpotosu reaffirmed that investment in education, particularly for young women, remains fundamental to sustainable national progress. He stressed that infrastructural deficits should not obstruct any child’s right to quality learning, framing the initiative as a direct response to that principle.
The project reflects a broader commitment to empowering female students and enhancing the constituency’s human capital base. With construction now underway, stakeholders anticipate that the development will improve learning conditions and position Mawuko Girls’ SHS to meet future enrollment demands.
