Damang Gold Mine Airport Project Costs 80 Million Dollars

Damang Gold Mine Limited’s Community Relations Manager, Ramy Oboro, disclosed that the company’s planned airport in the Western Region is expected to cost at least USD$80 million to complete.
The disclosure comes as Damang ramps up production under its new operator, Engineers and Planners. The mine’s Manager in charge of Mining, Frank Dankyi Agyei, said the mine extracted approximately 12.1 million tonnes of material between April and September 2026, with fresh material from active mining accounting for 60 per cent of plant feed.
Mr Oboro said the airport project mirrors similar mining-led infrastructure in the country and will support the transportation of employees, equipment and bullion, while opening the Western Region to business and tourism. The company has also committed a portion of its gold output to a community foundation fund and pledged to award project contracts to businesses within host communities.
