The discussions centred on strengthening the historic partnership between Ghana and the United Kingdom, with particular focus on expanding trade and investment, promoting sustainable economic growth, and advancing shared global priorities.
The meeting in London forms part of President Mahama’s ongoing diplomatic engagements to reposition Ghana in the global economy. It follows his recent push at the 81st United Nations General Assembly for an equitable global order, greater African representation, and reformed international financial systems to give developing countries fair access to capital and climate financing.
Officials say the talks focused on practical opportunities to expand bilateral trade, encourage UK investment in Ghana’s Reset agenda priorities such as agro-industrialization, energy transition, infrastructure, and pharmaceutical manufacturing, while also aligning positions on climate action, security, and multilateral reform.
The Presidency said both leaders welcomed the cordial atmosphere of the meeting and agreed that technical teams will follow up to advance trade facilitation, investment frameworks, and joint positions on shared global priorities ahead of future bilateral engagements.
