White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt Announces Pregnancy

Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, is expecting her second child, a baby girl, due in May 2026. Leavitt, 28, shared the news on Instagram, posting a photo of her baby bump in front of a Christmas tree. “My husband and I are thrilled to grow our family and can’t wait to watch our son become a big brother,” she wrote.

Leavitt, who is married to real estate developer Nicholas Riccio, 60, has been open about balancing motherhood and her demanding role in the White House. The couple welcomed their first child, Nicholas Robert “Niko” Riccio, in July 2024. Leavitt has spoken about returning to work just four days after giving birth due to the assassination attempt on President Donald Trump.

Leavitt and Riccio, who have a 32-year age gap, met in 2022 while Leavitt was campaigning for a congressional seat in New Hampshire. They got engaged in December 2023 and married in January 2025, just before Trump’s second inauguration.

In her Instagram post, Leavitt expressed gratitude to President Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles for their support. “I am also extremely grateful to President Trump and our Chief of Staff Susie Wiles for their support, and for fostering a pro-family environment in the White House,” she wrote.

Leavitt will be the first pregnant White House press secretary in U.S. history, and she plans to remain in her role. The news has sparked a mix of congratulations and discussions about her age and career.
