Long serving Akatsi North NDC treasurer Ketti dies
Vanity upon vanity, this world is not our home. The sad end of the NDC Constituency Treasurer for Akatsi North, Hon. Gershon Ketti, has left many in shock.
The late Hon. Gershon Ketti was a long standing treasurer of the NDC for about 15 years and he remained a strong pillar of the party in the constituency. Before 2012 when Akatsi North District and Constituency was split from the then Akatsi District, he served as the Deputy Treasurer for the Ave Avenor Constituency before resuming the substantive responsibility as the constituency treasurer for the new Akatsi North Constituency.
He was the former Assembly Member for the Dzalele Electoral Area and a Catechist of the E.P. Church, a man who had paid his due contribution to the development of society.
According to a family release, he had not been feeling too well of late. However, for the love for his party, the NDC, he contested for the position again in order to continue to serve the party.
During the constituency election on 25/10/2026, he was seen performing his usual functions as the constituency treasurer, doing all the necessary rounds at the election ground. After the election, which did not go in his favour, the family said his health condition deteriorated and he was rushed to the St Anthony Hospital, Dzodze, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Mr. Gershon Ketti had been a public figure, a people’s man, and a hard working citizen. What a sad way to go.
