TEIN HTU Holds Grand Durbar
The Ho Technical University chapter of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network TEIN, of the National Democratic Congress NDC, has held a grand durbar aimed at strengthening unity, nurturing leadership, and enhancing political engagement among members.
The event held at the University’s SRC JCR, attracted Hon Edem Kofi Kpotosu, The Ho Central MP, MCE for Ho Municipal, Steven Adom, students, party executives, alumni, invited guests, and members of TEIN, providing a platform for connection, interaction, mentorship, and discussions on the role of young people in national development and democratic governance.
At the celebration, the Revolution Anthem of the party has been sung to boost the morale of the group who believed in the same political ideology.
Addressing the gathering, speakers described TEIN as a vital platform for grooming future political leaders and urged members to remain committed to the values of discipline, service, patriotism, and accountability. They encouraged students to combine academic excellence with active civic participation, stressing that effective leadership requires integrity, dedication, and a strong commitment to national progress.
The speakers further challenged members to take advantage of opportunities within the network to develop their leadership potential, broaden their knowledge of governance and public policy, and contribute meaningfully to community and national development. Admonishing the students to be leaders of Character bearing in mind the needs of the people and to live reformed.
The Regional Youth Organizer of the party, Alagbo also known as Kabila used the opportunity to lay bear before the students the work done by the Ruling NDC notable of which are the National Apprenticeship program, No fees stress and free tertiary education for people living with disabilities, while encouraging them to be committed to the course of the NDC.
Hon Richmond Edem Kofi Kpotosu seized to chance to enlighten the students on the responsibilities of the member of Parliament on the charge of the Speaker, ASK Bagbin. With much emphasis on the LGBTQ and other Parliamentary affairs. He again admonished the students to brace up for greater opportunities in life.
The durbar also served as an avenue for experienced party members and alumni to mentor students on leadership, public service, and political organization. Participants were encouraged to build lasting networks, embrace volunteerism, and prepare themselves for greater responsibilities within the party and the country.
A key highlight of the programme was a renewed commitment by the chapter to promote inclusiveness, grassroots mobilisation, and constructive engagement on campus. Members pledged to work collectively to strengthen the chapter and advance the ideals of the National Democratic Congress through unity, dedication, and service.
The grand durbar concluded with a call on members to continue serving as ambassadors of peace, tolerance, and responsible leadership, while contributing their quota to Ghana’s democratic growth and socio-economic transformation.
