National President of GAUA, Rev. Kwaku Karikari Amoah, announced the decision after a unanimous resolution by the National Executive Committee (NEC) following a final engagement with the Ministry of Education. He said after thorough evaluation, the association concluded that about 80% of its grievances have been met, including issues of market premium, wrongful placement on the Single Spine Salary Structure, a negotiated 40 per cent allowance for professionals, extension of retirement rollover, and a one-off research allowance payment.
The Technical University Senior Administrators Association of Ghana (TUSAAG) has also suspended its month-long strike on similar grounds, with its President Stanley Abopaam confirming that members will resume work on Monday. Both associations said the remaining 20% of concerns, including final placement corrections and full retirement rollover extension beyond the fifth year, will continue to be negotiated with the FWSC, Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), and the Ministry of Finance.
