A statement signed by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) John Nchor, Public Affairs Officer for the Oti Regional Police Command in Dambai, said the team has been provided with a multipurpose armoured vehicle to support its operations. The statement noted that the team arrived in Nkwanta on October 14, 2026, to reinforce existing personnel already on the ground.
The statement added that the public is urged to remain calm, cooperate with security personnel, volunteer credible information, and refrain from any acts that could undermine security operations. The Police emphasised that public cooperation remains essential to maintaining peace, security and stability in Nkwanta, urging residents to avoid misinformation and actions that could inflame tensions.
