Ghanaian rapper Ayigbe Edem has declared the start of festival season in the Volta Region with a simple but powerful message: From “Shattafest” we go move to Edemfest. The Volta-born hitmaker, known for championing Ewe culture, dropped the line to energize fans after Shatta Wale stormed Ho with ShattaFest at Ho Sports Stadium.

Edem, born Denning Edem Hotor, said Festival Season is officially here, linking two of the biggest music brands in Ghana’s entertainment calendar. Shatta Wale’s ShattaFest, which partnered with MoMo Fest 2026, drew thousands to Ho on October 3, 2026, blending dancehall anthems with digital inclusion drive. Edem says the energy must now flow directly into Edemfest, his annual out-of-Accra concert that has become a cultural homecoming for Volta.

Edemfest, which began in 2017 as a small community festival in Keta focused on social issues like illegal fishing and open defecation, has grown into a 50,000-capacity stadium experience at Ho Jubilee Park and Ho Sports Stadium. In 2023, Edem performed with an octet live band and three backing vocalists alongside stars like Epixode, Tinny, Kelvynboy, and Jupitar, ending at 5am. The festival has also partnered with the Dream Child Foundation to raise funds for a pediatric hospital project in Volta, championed by Togbe Afede XIV.

According to fans, Edem’s message is a call for unity in Ghana music — moving from one massive festival to another without rivalry. By connecting Shattafest to Edemfest, Edem is promoting Volta as the new festival capital, boosting tourism, hotels, and small businesses. Organizers say this year’s Edemfest will be bigger, with live band, cultural exhibitions, and new talents given the stage to showcase their abilities to the world.
