UK Boosts Ghana’s War on Drugs with Donation

The Narcotics Control Commission has received a significant boost in its efforts to combat drug trafficking and abuse, with the Home Office International Operations presenting an advanced drug detection equipment worth GBP 56,752 to the commission.

According to #NarcoticsControlCommission, the donation is part of efforts to strengthen NACOC’s operational capabilities and enhance its ability to detect and prevent drug trafficking. The equipment will enable the commission to conduct more effective inspections and analysis of suspected drug consignments.

The presentation ceremony was attended by officials from the UK High Commission and NACOC, highlighting the collaborative efforts between the two countries in combating drug trafficking.

“This donation underscores the commitment of the UK government to supporting Ghana’s efforts to combat drug trafficking and abuse,” said a UK High Commission official. “We are pleased to partner with NACOC in this critical area and look forward to continued cooperation.”

The advanced equipment is expected to significantly enhance NACOC’s capacity to detect and seize illicit drugs, thereby reducing the flow of narcotics into the country.

The commission has been working to strengthen its operations and collaboration with international partners to address the growing threat of drug trafficking in Ghana.
