Dubbed "A Mother's Role in Shaping Society": Ezel Foundation CEO Elsie Appau-Klu Extends Care

The Ezel Foundation, led by Lawyer Elsie Appau-Klu, celebrated the pivotal role of mothers in shaping society at an event in Ho Central Constituency on Mother’s Day, May 10th, 2026. Appau-Klu delivered a stirring speech, “A Mother – Her Role in Shaping Society”, highlighting the multifaceted contributions of mothers.
“A mother is more than the one who gives birth. She is the first teacher, the first nurse, and the first moral guide a child ever knows,” Appau-Klu emphasized. “In our homes in Ho Central, from Sokode-Bagble to Ho township, it is the mother’s voice that teaches respect, discipline, and faith.”
Appau-Klu lauded the women of Ho Central for their tireless efforts as traders, farmers, seamstresses, and small business owners, stating, “You rise before dawn, work through the day, and still find time to care for your families. Every cedi you earn and every child you send to school is an investment in the future of Ho Central and Ghana.”
She urged the women to recognize their power and influence, saying, “When mothers organize, society changes. The Women’s Wing of Ho Central has the power to push for better health care, better schools, cleaner water, and fair opportunities for women in business.”
The Ezel Foundation provided good meals and gifts to all the women leaders in the constituency. The event also recognized the constituency’s women organizers, acknowledging their role since the NDC led Ghana’s return to constitutional rule.
The colourful ceremony was graced by Comrade Mawutor Agbavitor, Volta Regional Chairman, who lauded Ezel Foundation for their exploits and encouraged the women to keep contributing to national development and the progress of the party. “Women have been at the forefront of NDC’s leadership and national developmental drive,” Agbavitor said. “We appreciate your dedication and commitment to the party and the nation.”
The Member of Parliament, Hon. Richmond Edem Kofi Kpotosu, also attended the occasion and applauded Lawyer Elsie Appau-Klu for offering free medical screening to the women, saying “Your care and passion for women empowerment is simply phenomenal.”
Esi Dzarkey, one of the beneficiaries, expressed her heartfelt gratitude, “I am forever thankful to Hon. Elsie Appau-Klu for remembering us on this special day that no one remembered. I’m emotional and full of joy at the same time. I love you Elsie. Keep pprospering and going higher.”
Appau-Klu concluded by pledging her support, “I celebrate you. I honor you. And I pledge to keep advocating for policies that ease your burden, protect your rights, and open more doors for women and SMEs in Ho Central.”
The event highlighted the Ezel Foundation’s commitment to empowering women and promoting their participation in Ghana’s development. Appau-Klu’s message resonated with the audience, inspiring women to take up leadership roles and contribute to shaping the nation’s future.
