Police Nab Suspect Over Spintex Break-In

 

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect in connection with a case of unlawful entry and stealing at Spintex in Accra. The suspect, Daniel Odai Afotey, was apprehended at Labone Beach on March 11, 2026, following a complaint by a resident who had returned home to find her house broken into and cash, along with other valuable items, stolen.

 

According to #GhanaPoliceService, a search of Afotey’s room led to the recovery of the stolen items, including GHS 1,000, USD 22,350, gold watches, jewelry, mobile phones, and a television set. The suspect has admitted to the offense and implicated an accomplice, Ewonam, who is currently at large.

 

The police are working to trace the owners of the remaining recovered items and have urged anyone who may have lost property under similar circumstances to contact the CID Headquarters. Afotey will be put before the court on March 16, 2026.

 

The arrest is a testament to the police’s commitment to fighting crime in the country. The public is encouraged to continue providing information to help the police combat criminal activities.

 

The police are yet to disclose the motive behind the break-in, but investigations are ongoing.
