
Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has appointed his three daughters to senior executive roles within the Dangote Group, marking a significant leadership transition. Halima Aliko Dangote will lead the Dangote Family Office & International Offices, overseeing its development in Dubai. Fatima Aliko Dangote will oversee oil and gas operations, including the refinery and petrochemicals, while Mariya Aliko Dangote will manage commercial operations for cement and foods.
According to #JoyNews, the appointments are part of the group’s succession plan and Vision 2030 strategy, aiming to become a $100 billion enterprise. The Dangote Group has been expanding its operations across Africa, with interests in cement, oil and gas, fertiliser, and food manufacturing.
Halima’s role will focus on strengthening governance frameworks and ensuring operational alignment across the group’s international offices. Fatima will provide commercial leadership across the energy portfolio, including the Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals. Mariya will lead commercial strategy for cement and food operations, driving market expansion and operational excellence.
The appointments signal a deliberate governance strategy, preserving corporate culture and maintaining investor confidence. The Dangote Group’s expansion plans include increasing polypropylene production and urea capacity, positioning Nigeria as a major refined products exporter.
