Not Forgotten
“Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her
womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the
palms of my hands.” — Isaiah 49:15-16 KJV
You are not forgotten. Even when it feels like heaven is silent and men have moved on, God has
not moved on. Men may forget you, friends may forsake you, systems may overlook you, but God
does not forget His own. Your name is not written in sand where wind can erase it; your name is
engraved on the palms of His hands. Sometimes delay makes you feel forgotten. You prayed, you
fasted, you believed, and yet nothing seems to have changed. But delay is not denial, and waiting
is not forgetting.
God remembers. “And God remembered Noah… And
God remembered Rachel… And God remembered Hannah.” — Genesis 8:1, Genesis 30:22, 1 Samuel 1:19. When God remembers,
doors open, wombs open, destinies open. Your remembrance is coming. You are remembered
because you are marked. The scars on Jesus’ hands are the proof that you are not forgotten. Every
time God looks at His hands, He sees you. Your case is ever before Him. “Behold, I have graven
thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me” — Isaiah 49:16 KJV. Your
walls — your life, your family, your future — are continually before Him. He is working even when
you don’t feel it.
The Holy Spirit is God’s reminder that you are not forgotten. He is the Comforter sent to assure
you that God is with you, in you, and for you. He brings to your remembrance what God has said,
He strengthens you in waiting, and He whispers, “God has not forgotten you.” When you are filled
with the Holy Spirit, loneliness leaves and assurance comes. We live victoriously by the Spirit,
knowing we are remembered. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD,
thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” — Jeremiah 29:11 KJV. God’s
thoughts toward you are still good. His plan for you is still alive. You are not forgotten; you are in
His thoughts.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for not forgetting me. Thank You for engraving me on the palms of Your hands.
Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and let Your comfort fill my heart today. I receive assurance that You
remember me, You see me, and Your good thoughts toward me will come to pass. In Jesus’ name.
