Techiman Nurse Salomey Baffoe Remanded For 2 Weeks
A 40 year old senior nursing officer and mother of 3 from Techiman, Salomey Baffoe, has been remanded for 2 weeks after appearing before the Circuit Court today. Her remand follows a reported midnight operation that led to her arrest and detention. The case was called in court as family and colleagues watched proceedings.
Authorities suspect her of being linked to an anonymous, politically critical online platform that has been publishing content critical of public officials. The allegations centre on association and not conviction. The prosecution asked for more time to complete investigations while the defence pushed for bail. The court ordered her continued detention pending further inquiries.
The allegations remain before the court and have not been determined. The court stressed that remand is not a finding of guilt but a step to allow investigators to conclude their work. The matter has been adjourned for 2 weeks with the accused to reappear on the next date, according to the Circuit Court registry which listed the case for further hearing.
