Faithfulness in Service
“Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.” — 1 Corinthians 4:2 ESV
God is not just looking for gifted people. He is looking for faithful people. Talent can open doors, but faithfulness keeps them open. In the kingdom, consistency outweighs popularity, and obedience outweighs applause. Jesus told a story about two servants. Both were given work to
do. The difference was not in what they did, but in how they did it. “Well done, good and faithful
servant” — Matthew 25:23 ESV.
Notice He did not say “successful” or “famous” servant. He said “faithful”. Faithfulness means you
keep serving even when no one is watching. You keep giving when it’s inconvenient. You keep
showing up when you feel unseen. Faithfulness in service is tested in small things. “One who is
faithful in a very little is also faithful in much” — Luke 16:10 ESV.
The way you serve in your home, in church, at work, and in secret is the training ground for greater
responsibility. God trusts those who steward little things well. Do not grow weary. “Let us not
grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up” — Galatians 6:9
ESV. Your service is not wasted.
Every prayer, every act of kindness, every time you serve behind the scenes — heaven sees it.
Serve with excellence, serve with joy, and serve with endurance. That is the mark of a faithful
steward.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to be faithful in service. Teach me to serve You with a sincere heart, not for recognition but for Your glory. Strengthen me to finish well and hear You say, “Well done.” In
Jesus’ name, Amen.
