According to the event organizers, the Legacy Honors Gala celebrates the enduring contributions of founders who shaped Pentecostal and Charismatic Christianity in Ghana since the early 1960s. Hon Jinapor, who served as Lands Minister from 2021 to 2024, was spotted exchanging pleasantries with archbishops, former ministers and members of the diplomatic corps on the red carpet.

The Damongo legislator is known for his strong Christian faith and public advocacy for moral leadership. His presence underscores the growing intersection between governance and faith based values in national development. Guests say the gala features awards, live worship, historical documentaries and citations for pioneers including late Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams mentors and other charismatic fathers.

The evergreen context for readers is that Ghana’s Pentecostal and Charismatic movement now represents over 31 percent of the Christian population according to the 2021 Population and Housing Census. The movement’s growth traces to the Church of Pentecost, Assemblies of God and later Action Chapel International founded in 1979. Similar to how CSSPS manages school placement and WASSCE grading determines academic progression, church licensing under the Office of the Registrar of Companies and the Ecumenical Bodies ensures accountability and doctrinal order within Ghana’s religious space.

Security was tight at the venue with protocol officers managing dignitary arrivals. Organizers say this year’s theme honors legacy, faith and nation building and seeks to document oral histories of pioneers before they are lost. The event will also launch a Legacy Endowment Fund to support theological education and preserve archives of early charismatic crusades.

Hon Jinapor is expected to deliver a goodwill message later tonight alongside other parliamentarians. The gala continues with performances by award winning gospel artists and citation of 20 pioneers.
