
President John Dramani Mahama has sworn in new heads for two key security agencies, tasking them to enhance national safety and border security. Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sapong has been appointed Chief Fire Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, while Samuel Basintale Amadu takes charge as Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service.
At the swearing-in ceremony, President Mahama emphasized the importance of decisive leadership, discipline, and professionalism in their new roles. He urged them to prioritize institutional performance, emergency response, and border management.
Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sapong brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having served in various capacities within the Ghana National Fire Service. She succeeds Isaac Anyan Amaratunga, who retired in August 2025.
Samuel Basintale Amadu, a veteran immigration officer, is expected to strengthen border security and improve the country’s immigration systems. He succeeds Albert Kan-Dapaa, who also retired in August 2025.
According to the Presidency, the appointments are part of efforts to enhance national security and public safety. The new appointees have pledged to work diligently to justify the trust reposed in them.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by senior government officials and security personnel, highlighting the significance of the appointments.
