Akufo-Addo Installed as Lay Canon

Former President Nana Akufo-Addo has been installed as a Lay Canon of the St. Peter Anglican Cathedral in the Anglican Diocese of Koforidua. According to #3NewsGH, the installation ceremony was a solemn and dignified affair, with Akufo-Addo being robed in the traditional attire of a Lay Canon.
The installation was performed by the Bishop of the Diocese, the Right Reverend Dr. Daniel S. Koranteng, who praised Akufo-Addo for his commitment to the church and the nation. “We are gathered here today to recognize the contributions of Nana Akufo-Addo to the church and the nation. He has been a beacon of hope and a champion of the Christian faith,” Bishop Koranteng said.
Akufo-Addo expressed his gratitude for the honor, saying it was a humbling experience. “I am honored to be installed as a Lay Canon of this great cathedral. I pray that God will continue to bless me and guide me as I serve him,” he said.
The installation is seen as a recognition of Akufo-Addo’s contributions to the church and the nation. During his presidency, he was a strong advocate for the Christian faith and played a key role in promoting interfaith dialogue.
The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including government officials, church leaders, and members of the Akufo-Addo family. The installation is expected to strengthen the ties between the church and the Akufo-Addo family.
