Ziavi Traditional Area Bids Farewell to Beloved Leader

 

 

The Ziavi Traditional Area in Ghana’s Volta Region has bid a tearful goodbye to its Paramount Chief, Togbega Kwaku Ayim IV, who passed away after 38 years of dedicated service. According to Edem Kofi Kpotosu, Ho Central Constituency NDC MP, the late chief was a father figure, a source of wisdom, and a foundation of peace within the community.

 

The funeral rites, which took place from February 9 to 28, showcased the rich Ewe culture and traditions, with Asafo performances, cultural vigils, and tributes from various traditional areas. The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including the President’s Representative, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, and other notable figures.

 

Togbega Ayim IV’s leadership was marked by dignity, dedication to advancement, and unwavering affection for his people. He secured Traditional Council status for Ziavi, granting it autonomy, and established the Ziavi Senior High Technical School, enhancing education and human resources in the region.

 

According to Kpotosu, the late chief’s legacy will undoubtedly motivate future generations. “His leadership was characterized by dignity, a dedication to advancement, and an unwavering affection for his people,” he said.

 

The grand Royal Burial Service took place on February 28, with post-burial customary rites and memorial services held from March 1 to 8.

 

As the community mourns, they also celebrate a life richly lived, filled with service, leadership, and integrity. May his soul rest in peace, and may the people of Ziavi draw strength from his enduring legacy.
