NDC Opens Doors to New Members Nationwide

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially opened registration for new members, marking a significant step towards its 2026 internal elections. According to Joy News, the registration period will run from February 10th to March 30th, and interested individuals can register at their local branch offices.
General Secretary Fifi Kwetey announced the registration timeline at a press conference, emphasizing that membership registration will be done strictly at the branch level. The party has set the cost of acquiring a plastic membership card at GHC50.
According to NDC’s timetable, the party will follow a structured schedule leading up to its national congress in December 2026. This includes picking branch nomination forms, validating branch executives, and nominations for constituency and national positions.
Kwetey warned against transferring membership numbers of deceased members, stating that such acts will attract severe sanctions. He also emphasized that government office holders contesting for party positions must resign at least six months prior.
The NDC’s move aims to strengthen its grassroots presence and ensure a credible electoral process. As the party prepares for its internal elections, members are encouraged to participate and shape the party’s future.
The NDC’s registration drive is expected to boost its membership and reinforce its position in Ghana’s political landscape.
