Government Pledges Inclusive Development in Akatsi North

In a show of commitment to grassroots development, the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, alongside the MP for Akatsi North, Hon. Peter Nortsu-Kotoe, and DCE Bless Kojo Katamani, has led a series of sod-cutting ceremonies and project inspections aimed at boosting healthcare, education, security, and local commerce in the district.
According to reports, the delegation cut sod for the construction of CHPS compounds at Zemu and Metsrikasa, as well as two nurses’ quarters at Zemu, marking a significant step towards improving healthcare infrastructure. The team also inspected the stalled Agenda 111 Hospital project at Ave Dakpa, engaging stakeholders on ways to ensure its completion.
In the education sector, the government has initiated the construction of three-unit classroom blocks at Zemu and Nyitawuta, and three teachers’ quarters at Zemu, aimed at enhancing quality teaching and learning. Additionally, sites have been handed over for the completion of a new police headquarters and a two-storey, 40-room shopping mall at Ave Dakpa, expected to enhance security and boost local commerce.
The government has also demonstrated its commitment to community support, donating 400 bags of cement to various schools and communities, including Metsrikasa D/A Basic School and the Church of Pentecost-Ave Dakpa.
These activities underscore the government’s resolve to deliver inclusive development that impacts the grassroots, Hon. Bless Kojo Katamani stated.
