NDC Condemns Obuasi SHTS Abuse Demands Independent Police Investigation

General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey made the position known at a press conference at the party headquarters on Thursday, October 22, 2026, as public pressure mounts over the case involving the interdicted headmaster, Zakaria Abdulai.
He said the party would accept the outcome of the investigation. “If he’s found guilty, he will pay the right price. If he’s not guilty, we’ll be happy for him. So we want the law enforcement to do its own job.”
Mr Kwetey explained that the NDC’s initial position was taken before the party had access to the full documentary. “The party unfortunately did not have access to Manasseh’s comprehensive disclosure as at Monday,” he said. “Soon after watching those Manasseh tapes comprehensively, it was clear that our earlier position needed to be changed.”
The NDC General Secretary reiterated that the party would not shield anyone because of political connections, saying the country deserves clear assurance that as a party and as government, it does not cover anybody.
