According to party officials, the headmaster who is a known public servant and currently serving as head of a second-cycle institution under the Ghana Education Service is ineligible to contest a partisan political position while still in active public service without proper resignation or clearance, a move they say breaches NDC guidelines and public service regulations.
Party insiders in Juaben indicate that tensions have risen following the filing of nominations for the upcoming constituency chairmanship elections, with some branch executives accusing the headmaster of using his position to influence delegates. Supporters of the headmaster however insist he has the right to contest and has contributed immensely to education and party grassroots mobilization in Juaben and Obuasi.
As of Monday, 19th October, 2026, the headmaster of Obuasi SHTS has not officially responded to the directive, but sources close to him say he is consulting his legal team and party elders. Howedey.com will continue to track this developing political showdown in Juaben live.
