The colourful graduation ceremony was held at Gondar Barracks in Accra on October 16, 2026, with highlights including tactical demonstrations, award presentations, and official badge decoration. Photos from the event show the highly disciplined personnel in full combat regalia celebrating completion of one of the toughest courses in the Ghana Armed Forces.
The Commander of the Army Special Operations Brigade, Brigadier General Richard Kainyi Mensah, commended the Brigade for its international laurels, citing the historic silver medal won at the 2026 Cambrian Patrol in the United Kingdom as proof of Ghana’s elite training standards. He also announced that assessment for Special Operations Forces Basic Course 6 will be held in November 2026 and encouraged qualified female officers and soldiers to apply.
Brigadier General Agbebo reminded the graduates that the Special Operations badge represents responsibility rather than privilege, urging them to uphold discipline, physical fitness, tactical proficiency, and professional integrity. Ghana’s continued investment in elite forces is seen as vital for regional stability as West Africa confronts terrorism, insurgency, and transnational crime within ECOWAS and global defence partnerships.
