Guard Your Heart
“Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.” — Proverbs 4:23 ESV
Everything starts in the heart. Attitudes. Decisions. Directions. What you allow in, will shape what flows out. Guarding is not fear. It is wisdom. It is choosing what you read, what you hear, who you sit with, and what you rehearse in your mind.
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things” — Philippians 4:8 ESV. That is guard duty.
An unguarded heart leaks. Bitterness enters. Offense settles. Comparison steals joy. But a guarded heart stays soft toward God and strong against compromise. It protects peace so faith can grow. It protects purity so purpose can remain. Today, set watchmen at the gates. Cut what corrupts. Fill what strengthens. Speak truth over fear. Forgive quickly. Rest in Christ. Because when the heart is kept, the life is kept.
Prayer:
Lord, I entrust my heart to You. Keep it tender, keep it clean, keep it anchored in truth. Let only what is pure and pleasing to You take root in me. Amen.
