World Bank Boosts Ghana’s Schools with $300m

 

The government has secured a significant boost to its education sector, with the World Bank announcing a $300 million support package to expand school infrastructure across the country. The announcement was made by the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, highlighting the government’s commitment to improving education outcomes.

 

According to #GhanaEducation, the funding will be used to construct new schools, classrooms, and facilities, as well as provide educational resources and materials. The initiative aims to improve access to quality education, particularly in underserved areas.

 

The Minister emphasized that the support is a testament to the government’s focus on education and its commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. “This funding will go a long way in bridging the infrastructure gap in our schools and improving the learning environment for our children,” he said.

 

The World Bank’s support is expected to benefit thousands of students and teachers across the country. The project will also create opportunities for local contractors and suppliers, boosting the economy.
