Ghana’s gold processing industry is taking a significant leap forward with the Gold Coast Refinery, as Minister for Finance, Hon. Ato Forson, and Ghana GOLDBOD CEO Sammy Gyamfi, showcased refined gold bars at the refinery’s facilities. According to CTV News, the event highlighted Ghana’s progress in strengthening in-country gold processing and value creation.

 

The Gold Coast Refinery is a major player in Ghana’s gold industry, and its operations are expected to increase the country’s gold reserves and boost economic growth. Hon. Ato Forson emphasized the government’s commitment to promoting value-added gold production and enhancing the country’s position in the global gold market.

 

“This refinery is a game-changer for Ghana’s gold industry,” Hon. Ato Forson said. “We are committed to creating an enabling environment for investors and stakeholders to thrive.” The Minister also highlighted the government’s efforts to promote transparency and accountability in the gold sector.

 

Sammy Gyamfi, CEO of Ghana GOLDBOD, echoed the Minister’s sentiments, saying the refinery is a significant step towards Ghana’s goal of becoming a major gold processing hub. The refinery has state-of-the-art equipment and technology, enabling it to produce high-quality gold bars.

 

The Gold Coast Refinery is expected to create employment opportunities and increase government revenue through taxes and royalties. As Ghana continues to strengthen its gold industry, stakeholders are optimistic about the country’s economic prospects.
