Volta Minister Champions Disability Inclusion

 

 

The Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities. He was speaking at the Learn and Share Festival organized by the Women with Disability Development and Advocacy Organization (WODAO), which highlighted the importance of inclusion and representation of women with disabilities in society.

 

The festival, themed “Strengthening Civil Society Representation of Women with Disability,” featured inspiring stories of resilience and advocacy from women with disabilities. James Gunu commended WODAO for their efforts in amplifying the voices of women with disabilities and promoting inclusion.

 

The Minister emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring that no one is left behind, citing the vision of former President John Dramani Mahama to expand opportunities for persons with disabilities, including free tertiary education. James Gunu announced a donation of GHS 5,000 to support WODAO’s initiatives.

 

The event highlighted the importance of promoting inclusion and representation of persons with disabilities. James Gunu stressed that stakeholders must work together to build a more inclusive society.

 

The festival was a significant step towards promoting the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities.
