
Former President John Mahama has announced plans to establish Ghana’s first cyber and electronic warfare center at the Tamale Airforce Base, as part of efforts to enhance the country’s military operations. The announcement was made during a ceremony where a fleet of vehicles was handed over to the military to boost its operations.
According to Joy News, the cyber warfare center will be a state-of-the-art facility designed to tackle emerging threats in the cyber domain. The facility will enable Ghana to better protect its critical infrastructure and enhance its national security.
The fleet of vehicles handed over to the military includes trucks, ambulances, and other specialized vehicles. These vehicles are expected to improve the military’s mobility and response capabilities, enabling it to effectively carry out its mandate to protect the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, former President Mahama emphasized the importance of investing in the military to ensure national security. He noted that the cyber warfare center would be a significant step towards enhancing Ghana’s defense capabilities.
The establishment of the cyber warfare center is seen as a major boost to Ghana’s military modernization efforts. The facility is expected to be a hub for training and research, enabling the military to stay ahead of emerging threats.
