HeFRA Opens Regional Office in Ho

The Volta and Oti Regional Office of the Health Facilities Regulatory Authority (HeFRA) was officially opened in Ho, marking a significant milestone in the country’s healthcare sector. The office is expected to play a crucial role in ensuring that health facilities in the region operate with the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.

Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, emphasized the importance of the office, stating that it represents a collective commitment to strengthening the health system. He urged health workers to view the initiative as a partnership aimed at improving healthcare delivery, rather than a policing effort.

According to HeFRA’s Acting Registrar, Dr. Winfred Korley Baah, the agency is dedicated to building a system where patients feel safe, professionals feel supported, and facilities are empowered to provide the best possible care. The regional office will serve as a center for collaboration, guidance, and continuous improvement for all health providers in Volta and Oti.

The opening of the office has been welcomed by stakeholders, who see it as a step towards improving healthcare in the region. Divine Gborha, Regional Director of HEFRA, expressed appreciation to partners and appealed for a motor vehicle to aid the office’s operations.

The event underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare delivery and promoting health tourism in the region.
