Thousands Evacuated As India Braces For Second Cyclone

Thousands of residents have been evacuated from coastal areas as India braces for a second cyclone in just one week.
Emergency teams have been deployed to eastern coastal states, with shelters opened and relief materials pre-positioned ahead of the storm’s expected landfall.
The India Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rainfall, strong winds and possible flooding, urging fishermen to stay away from the sea until further notice.
The first cyclone earlier this week already caused damage to homes, power lines and crops, leaving authorities anxious about the compounding impact of a second storm.
Authorities say evacuation efforts are ongoing, with priority given to low-lying communities and villages near the shoreline, while the National Disaster Response Force remains on standby.
💬 Howedey Insight: Back-to-back cyclones is tough. India is moving fast with evacuations, but the real test will be after landfall.
