Volta Region to Roll Out 24-Hour Economy Project

The Volta Region is set to embark on a groundbreaking initiative, the 24-Hour Economy Market Project, aimed at stimulating economic activity, creating jobs, and promoting inclusive growth. The project, which forms part of the government’s 24-hour economy policy, is scheduled to commence in May and will be implemented across all 18 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies in the region.
Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, signed the contract for the implementation of the project on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama. Gunu emphasized that the 24-hour economy is a practical pathway to transforming local economies, empowering traders and businesses, and creating sustainable opportunities for the people.
The project is expected to have a significant impact on the region’s economy, with Gunu urging stakeholders, including contractors, assemblies, and community leaders, to uphold transparency, ensure quality work, and deliver within stipulated timelines. He stressed that the initiative is part of the government’s collective effort to build a resilient and vibrant Volta Region.
