Ghana has received a significant boost to its agricultural sector with the receipt of 2000 metric tons of fertilizer donated by the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco. The donation, made in line with Morocco’s commitment to promoting agricultural development across Africa, is expected to enhance Ghana’s food security and mitigate the impact of global challenges on the farming sector.

According to #GhanaNews, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, expressed gratitude to the Government of Morocco for the timely intervention, highlighting the cordial relations between the two countries. He noted that the donation aligns with Ghana’s strategic objective of achieving food security and acknowledged Morocco’s earlier similar contribution.

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco, Her Excellency Imane Ouaadil, emphasized that the donation is a testament to the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Ghana and Morocco. She highlighted Morocco’s commitment to promoting agricultural development across Africa and noted that the support would boost productivity, enhance resilience, and mitigate the impact of climate change, supply chain disruptions, and rising fertilizer costs.

The Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Khadijah, stressed that the gesture represents a practical outcome of sustained diplomatic engagement between the two countries, reflecting a shared commitment to ensuring bilateral cooperation yields tangible benefits for citizens. She noted that the donation would contribute meaningfully to ongoing national efforts to enhance agricultural productivity and strengthen food security.
