Volta Youth Get Boost with Entrepreneurship Fund
The Volta Region is taking a significant step towards tackling youth unemployment with the launch of the Volta Youth Development Fund. The initiative, conceived by Volta Regional Minister James Gunu, aims to support young entrepreneurs and empower them to create jobs.
According to #VoltaRegionalMinister, the fund is a response to the challenge of government providing jobs for all graduates. The Minister urged the youth to identify problems in society and turn them into innovative business opportunities.
The fund received a boost with donations from prominent individuals, including Johnson Asiedu Nketia, National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, who donated GH₵500,000, and Mr. Daniel McKorley, who contributed GH₵200,000. The Minister also pledged 10% of his monthly salary and an additional GH₵20,000 to support the fund’s sustainability.
The Volta Youth Development Fund is designed as a sustainable, interest-free revolving fund, empowering the youth to become job creators and drivers of development. The initiative is expected to have a significant impact on the region’s economy and inspire young people to take charge of their futures.
The launch of the fund marks a new chapter in the region’s efforts to address youth unemployment and promote entrepreneurship.
