Police Recover Arms After Deadly Shootout

 

 

The Ghana Police Service has recovered five assault rifles after a shootout with suspected armed robbers in the Bono Region. According to Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Bono Regional Command’s PRO, one suspect was killed during the operation.

 

The incident occurred on February 11, 2026, following an intelligence-led operation by the police. The recovered arms are believed to have been used in several robberies in the region.

 

The police have launched an investigation into the incident and are working to apprehend other suspects involved. Chief Inspector Akeelah stated, “The police will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of the public”.
