AI to Replace Human Resources by 2030: What's the Future of Work?

The rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the job market, and human resources are no exception. According to AllAboutAI, up to 30% of current work hours across the US economy could be automated by 2030, with administrative support, manufacturing production, and customer service being the most vulnerable industries.

This shift is expected to displace around 400 to 800 million jobs globally, forcing up to 375 million workers to change occupations. However, it’s not all doom and gloom. According to the World Economic Forum, 170 million new jobs will be created by 2030, offsetting the 92 million jobs displaced.

The key to thriving in this new landscape is adaptability. Workers must reskill to remain competitive, learning to manage, train, and collaborate with AI. This evolution favors roles demanding creativity, problem-solving, and adaptability. Industries like healthcare, technology, and creativity are likely to see significant growth.

According to McKinsey Global Institute’s 2023 analysis, office support and administrative roles are at the highest risk, with 69% of tasks automatable. Manufacturing and production work are also vulnerable, with up to 59% of activities potentially automated.

While some jobs will be lost, others will emerge. Roles like AI trainers, data analysts, and human-machine teaming managers are on the rise. The future of work depends on how we choose to adapt to AI.
