Kpotosu Supports Ho Central SHS Freshers

Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Richmond Edem Kofi Kpotosu, has extended educational support to 200 first-year Senior High School students who applied to his office for assistance to begin their second cycle education.
The beneficiaries received mattresses, chop boxes, books, pens, trunks, food items and menstrual pads for girls at a ceremony held at the Ahoe Community Centre on 1st September, 2026.
The gesture, according to the MP, was aimed at ensuring that no child in the constituency is denied access to secondary education because of financial constraints or lack of basic logistics. He said education remains the cornerstone of national development and a key priority for Ho Central.
Addressing the gathering, the MP urged students to remain focused on their studies and to use artificial intelligence ingeniously to enhance learning rather than for negative purposes. He reiterated his earlier promise that no child would be turned away from school for lack of support.
“I made a promise that no child from the Ho Central Constituency would be turned away from school because of money or educational logistics. Today we are here not to make another promise but to deliver. I stand for service and development,” Mr. Kpotosu said.
He appealed to parents to exercise patience with government and to continue to support their wards, noting that effective leadership requires tact and quiet diligence. He also announced plans to graduate 200 beneficiaries of his apprenticeship programme in the coming weeks.
The Municipal Director of Education, Dr. Esther Adzima-Yeboah, who was present at the event, admonished parents not to shirk their responsibility in the upbringing of their children. She expressed concern about recalcitrant attitudes among some students and cautioned against negative peer pressure. She commended the MP for the intervention and prayed for greater capacity for him to do more.
Torgbi Kasa III, Dufia of Ahoe, lauded the MP for his sustained interest in education and called for extension of similar support to other needy students yet to benefit.
One of the beneficiaries, Wendy Krah Yayra, expressed gratitude to the MP on behalf of her colleagues, describing the support as timely and relieving.
The distribution exercise, which was first initiated by the MP in January 2025, forms part of his broader educational infrastructure to ease the transition of freshers into boarding school life.
