SHS Placement Results Rescheduled To Sept. 4
The Education Ministry has extended the deadline to give about 20,000 qualified students more time to complete their school choices.

The Ministry of Education has rescheduled the release of the 2026/2027 Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) results from Monday, August 31 to Friday, September 4, 2026. The decision follows requests from some parents, guardians, students and Heads of Schools for additional time to complete the submission and uploading of students’ data onto the platforms of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the CSSPS.
The extension is expected to provide qualified students who have not yet completed the required processes with an opportunity to have their information captured before the placement exercise proceeds. According to the Ministry, about 20,000 qualified students have not yet had their school choices uploaded onto the CSSPS platform by their Heads of Schools, parents or guardians.
The Ministry said the additional time is intended to ensure that pending data submissions do not prevent the affected students from participating in the placement process. The revised schedule means parents, guardians, students and Heads of Schools now have until Friday, September 4 to submit and upload outstanding information required for placement into Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.
The Ministry has consequently urged all affected parties to take advantage of the extension and complete the necessary submissions within the stipulated period. It said the move was necessary to ensure that the placement process accommodates all qualified students whose information is yet to be fully captured on the system.
The Ministry through the revised release contained in a statement issued on August 30, 2026, and signed by Hashmin Mohammed, Press Secretary; further reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a fair, transparent, efficient and orderly placement process, stressing the importance of ensuring that every qualified student has a meaningful opportunity to secure placement in an SHS or TVET institution.
