Ghana’s quest for Commonwealth Games glory has begun on a high note as para-athlete Zinabu Issah delivered a season-best performance.
Ghana opened its medal account at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in emphatic fashion after para-athlete Zinabu Issah clinched the country’s first medal with a silver-winning performance in the Women’s Shot Put F57 final. Issah produced a season-best throw of 8.65 metres to secure second place in a fiercely contested event, delivering a memorable performance that placed Ghana on the medals table and provided an early boost to the national contingent.
