Army Takes Over Jubilee House Guard Duties

The Ghana Army has officially taken over guard duties at the Jubilee House, the seat of government, from the Ghana Air Force in a colorful ceremony. The 47th Guard Changing Ceremony was witnessed by senior government officials and military leaders, including Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang and the Chief of Defence Staff, Lt Gen William Agyapong.
The ceremony, which featured impressive performances by the regimental bands of both the Army and Air Force, marks a longstanding military tradition aimed at ensuring continuous security at the presidency. The Ghana Army will assume responsibility for maintaining security at the Jubilee House for the next quarter.
Deputy Minister for Defence, Ernest Brogya Genfi, was among the dignitaries who witnessed the ceremony, which underscores the importance of security at the seat of government. The event was also attended by the Minister for the Interior, Hon Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, and the National Security Advisor, Mr Prosper Douglas Bani.
The Guard Changing Ceremony is a significant event that showcases the professionalism and discipline of the Ghana Armed Forces. The ceremony is a symbol of the country’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability.
The Ghana Army’s assumption of guard duties is expected to further enhance security at the Jubilee House, with personnel from the Army taking up positions to ensure the safety of the President and other government officials.
