Afenyo-Markin Reveals Ties with Kennedy Agyapong

The Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has disclosed the nature of his longstanding relationship with former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, highlighting financial support and joint community projects. According to Citi News, Afenyo-Markin revealed that Agyapong had financially supported him on several occasions, including contributing to his campaign and personal expenses.
Speaking in an interview, Afenyo-Markin emphasized that their relationship was not one-sided, as he had also supported Agyapong in various ways. He cited an instance where he helped Agyapong secure a contract for a borehole project in his constituency.
Afenyo-Markin stressed that their relationship was built on mutual respect and trust, with both men working together on several community projects. He expressed disappointment that Agyapong’s recent comments about him had been misinterpreted, saying their disagreements were blown out of proportion.
The Effutu MP also revealed that he had introduced Agyapong to several business leaders, facilitating deals that had boosted his career. Afenyo-Markin emphasized that despite their differences, he still holds Agyapong in high regard.
The revelation comes amid speculation about the future of their relationship, with some suggesting it had soured. However, Afenyo-Markin insists that their bond remains strong, despite occasional disagreements.
