Ghana and Saint Kitts and Nevis have signed a landmark visa exemption agreement, expanding travel access for holders of ordinary passports between the two nations. The agreement is expected to boost tourism, trade, and cultural exchanges, strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Ghana and Saint Kitts and Nevis.
According to #GhanaPresidentialCommunications, the agreement was signed during the recent visit of Prime Minister Terrance Drew of Saint Kitts and Nevis to Ghana. The visa exemption deal is part of efforts to deepen bilateral relations and promote South-South cooperation.
The agreement will enable citizens of Ghana and Saint Kitts and Nevis to travel to each other’s countries without the need for visas, facilitating easier movement of people and goods. This is expected to have a positive impact on trade, investment, and tourism, creating new opportunities for businesses and individuals alike.
Speaking on the agreement, President John Dramani Mahama emphasized the importance of strengthening ties with Caribbean nations. “This agreement is a testament to our commitment to promoting cooperation and friendship between Ghana and Saint Kitts and Nevis,” he said.
The visa exemption deal is also expected to enhance cultural exchanges and people-to-people diplomacy between the two countries. As citizens of both nations take advantage of the new travel arrangements, it is anticipated that there will be increased understanding and appreciation of each other’s cultures.
The agreement is a significant milestone in Ghana’s efforts to expand its diplomatic and economic engagements with the Caribbean region.
