Quality Healthcare for Akatsi North

Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, has cut sod for the construction of a Community Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound at Metsrikasa in the Akatsi North District. According to Gunu, the project is part of the government’s efforts to improve healthcare delivery in the region, aligning with President John Dramani Mahama’s vision for quality healthcare.
Speaking at the ceremony, Gunu emphasized the importance of quality control, stating that the government will not engage contractors who cannot deliver quality projects. “To cut sod for a project we won’t complete is 419,” he said, adding that the government will not award industrial-scale contracts to “wheelbarrow contractors.”
The DCE for Akatsi North, Bless Kojo Katamani, urged the contractor to expedite work on the project, stressing the need for quality materials and workmanship. “We want to leave a lasting legacy as a government,” he said. The MP for Akatsi North, Peter Nortsu-Kotoe, echoed the need for contractors to work with local artisans and craftsmen, ensuring that community members benefit from the project.
The CHPS Compound is expected to improve healthcare services in the area, providing access to quality medical care for residents. The project includes the construction of ancillary facilities, enhancing the overall healthcare infrastructure in the district.
According to local reports, the government is committed to delivering quality projects, and officials are monitoring the construction process to ensure compliance with standards.
