According to GHOne News, the chief expressed his appreciation for the bank’s progress, highlighting its potential to drive economic growth and development in Ghana.

Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II, a respected traditional leader and father of prominent politicians John Jinapor and Samuel Abu Jinapor, praised Dr. Zakaria’s leadership and vision for the bank. The chief’s commendation comes after Dr. Zakaria’s appointment as Managing Director of NIB in January 2025, with a mandate to strengthen the bank’s operations and contribute to Ghana’s financial sector growth.

Under Dr. Zakaria’s leadership, NIB is expected to expand its support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), enhance digital transformation, and improve financial stability. The bank has already begun to make strides in these areas, with a focus on innovative solutions and customer-centric services.

The Paramount Chief’s endorsement is a testament to NIB’s commitment to excellence and its role in driving Ghana’s economic transformation. Dr. Zakaria’s expertise in public financial management, auditing, and economic policy is expected to steer NIB towards greater success.

NIB has a rich history in Ghana, dating back to the post-World War II era, and has played a significant role in financing businesses, particularly in manufacturing, agribusiness, and industrial sectors.
