Ghanaian Survivors Airlifted to 37/ Mahama Visits

 

 

The Ghana Armed Forces has successfully evacuated three Ghanaian survivors of a terrorist attack in Northern Burkina Faso, bringing them back to Ghana for medical treatment. According to Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, Action PRO of the Ghana Armed Forces, the survivors were airlifted to Ghana on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, and are receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital.

 

The survivors were among a group of tomato traders who were attacked by terrorists on February 14, 2026. The Ghana Armed Forces, in coordination with other regional forces, acted swiftly to rescue the survivors and bring them to safety.

 

The attack is the latest in a series of terrorist incidents in the Sahel region, highlighting the need for continued vigilance and cooperation. The Ghanaian government has condemned the attack and vowed to support the survivors and their families.

 

Captain Arhin stated that the Ghana Armed Forces remains committed to protecting Ghanaians and ensuring their safety, both at home and abroad. The military’s prompt action in evacuating the survivors is a testament to its dedication to its mandate.

 

The survivors are currently receiving medical attention and support, and their families are being kept informed of their condition. The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers faced by traders and travelers in the region.

 

The Ghana Armed Forces’ efforts to evacuate the survivors demonstrate its commitment to protecting Ghanaians and upholding regional security.

Also, President John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday, February 18, visited two victims of the Burkina Faso terrorist attack currently on admission at the 37 Military hospital in Accra.

President Mahama, who was accompanied by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, commiserated with them and assured them their bills would be absorbed by the government.
