Bawumia Leads NPP Primaries with 45% Support, Ken Agyapong Closes Gap with 31%

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is currently leading the pack in the NPP presidential primaries with 45% of the votes, according to a recent Global InfoAnalytics poll. His closest rival, Kennedy Agyapong, is gaining ground with 31% support, indicating a tightening race.

The survey reveals that Dr. Bryan Acheampong trails behind with 3% support, while Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum and Kwabena Agyei Agyapong have negligible support. Notably, 11% of respondents preferred not to disclose their candidate, and 9% remain undecided, suggesting the contest is far from over.

Analysts believe the undecided and undisclosed voters could significantly influence the outcome as campaigns intensify. With the NPP primaries scheduled for January 31, 2026, all eyes are on the contenders as they step up their engagements.

The poll highlights Bawumia’s strong lead in 14 out of 16 regions, with significant support in Ashanti, Eastern, and Greater Accra. Agyapong, however, is ahead in the Volta Region, and the Central Region is a closely contested battleground.

As the race heats up, it’s clear that Bawumia and Agyapong are the frontrunners. But with a significant chunk of voters still undecided, the outcome remains uncertain. Will Bawumia secure the lead, or will Agyapong mount a comeback? The next few weeks will be crucial
