NPP Appointees Walk Free Due to NDC Ties

Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has alleged that some former appointees of the previous government are evading prosecution because they financially supported the National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaign. According to Ghana News Agency, Kpebu made the claim in an interview on TV3, stating that Ghana’s political landscape is “dicey” and that behind-the-scenes arrangements often influence corruption cases.

Kpebu explained that individuals who were expected to face arrest after a change in government have remained untouched, raising questions about political compromises made before elections. He noted that pre-election negotiations often involve financial support from politically exposed individuals seeking protection once a new government assumes power.

The allegations have sparked concerns about the impartiality of the justice system and the influence of money in politics. Kpebu’s claims suggest that some individuals are above the law due to their connections with powerful politicians.

The Ghana Police Service and the Office of the Special Prosecutor have not commented on Kpebu’s allegations. However, the issue highlights the need for transparency and accountability in governance.

The controversy comes amid growing concerns about corruption in Ghana, with many citizens calling for reforms to ensure that those in power are held accountable for their actions.
